Sb. Levey et al., EFFICACY OF TOPICAL CIPROFLOXACIN 0.3-PERCENT IN THE TREATMENT OF ULCERATIVE KERATITIS IN HUMANS, Annals of ophthalmology. Glaucoma, 30(5), 1998, pp. 301-304
We retrospectively reviewed 120 corneal ulcers seen at Sinai Hospital
of Baltimore to determine whether topical ciprofloxacin 0.3% is as eff
ective as multiple broad-spectrum formulated antibiotics in the treatm
ent of ulcerative keratitis. The final vision was similar in both grou
ps, hut the cipro group reepithelialized faster than the conventional
therapy group. We therefore suggest that ciprofloxacin 0.3% as a singl
e agent is effective in the treatment of ulcerative keratitis.
