Abstract
A new process for the oxidation of 2- [(aryl)methyl]thio-1H-imidazo[4, 5-c]pyridine to 2-[(aryl)methyl]sulfinyl-1H-imidazo[4,5-c]pyridine was achieved using NCS under mild condition. The reaction selectively aff ords the desired sulfoxide as the only product in high yield without f urther oxidation to the sulfone side product.
