Abstract
This paper presents a method for calculating the critical buckling loa d of sandwich panels. Based on earlier 'zig-zag' models for through-th ickness displacements, the transverse shear deformation of the faces i s included, thus allowing the analysis of thick sandwich plates. Where possible, predictions have been compared with other workers. Also, th e influence of face lay-up and plate aspect ratio are investigated. (C ) 1998 Published by Elsevier Science Ltd.
