Abstract
This paper presents the spectral and angular dependences of the radian ce coefficients r(lambda) of ice and water clouds, obtained by the aut hors by processing the data of aircraft-based, balloon-based, and spac e experiments and published materials. The characteristics of the radi ation are obtained for the 0.4-4.0-mu m spectral range and scattering angles of 20-180 degrees. It is shown that there is a difference in th e spectral and angular dependences of r(lambda) for ice and water clou ds. A difference is pointed out in the spectral behavior of r(lambda) of ice clouds for scattering angles of gamma<50 degrees and gamma>50 d egrees. (C) 1998 The Optical Society of America.
