MORPHOLOGICO-ANATOMICAL STRUCTURE OF LEAVES AND DEMOGRAPHIC PARAMETERS OF THE HAWTHORN SPIDER-MITE, TETRANYCHUS-VIENNENSIS ZACHER AND THE 2-SPOTTED SPIDER-MITE, TETRANYCHUS-URTICAE (KOCH) (ACARINA, TETRANYCHIDAE) ON SELECTED SCAB-RESISTANT APPLE VARIETIES

Among scab-resistant apple cultivars, good hosts for the hawthorn spid
er mite, Tetranychus viennensis Zacher, and for the two-spotted spider
mite, Tetranychus urticae Koch (Acari, Tetranychidae), were Novamac a
nd Freedom, on the leaves of which the net reproduction rate (R-o) ran
ged between 20 and 26, while the worst hosts were the cvs. Primula, Pi
onier, and Lodel, on the leaves of which the R-o index ranged from 8.9
1 to 15.92.
