Abstract
Single crystals of Nb3Te4 are intercalated with thallium. Resistivity measurements show a decrease of about 20% in the magnitude of the Tl0. 20Nb3Te4 CDW resistivity peak when a field of about 12 V/cm is applied . In pure Nb3Te4, for a similar field, only a small broadening of the CDW peak is observed. The CDW is commensurate in the pure host and is incommensurate following intercalation. In view of the apparent non-Oh mic behaviour and that the CDW characteristics in TlxNb3Te4 (0 less th an or equal to x less than or equal to 1) can be strongly influenced v ia intercalation without quenching the CDW, suggests that these thalli um intercalates may be uniquely suitable for the study of non-linear e lectrical transport related to the Peierls transition.
