In the title 2:1 crown:cation complex, Li+ is hexaacoordinate. The spa
ce group of the crystal is P21/c, with a = 11.7842 (3), b = 14.1405 (4
), c = 14.2322 (3), beta = 89.90 and Z = 4. The two benzo-10-crown-3 u
nits are nonequivalent in the complex as a result of the spatial dispo
sition of the anion and the C-13 CPMAS Spectrum is consistent with suc
h a structure. (C) 1998 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights reserved.
