Abstract
For correlative light and electron microscopic immunocytochemistry, a simple method for flat embedding of cryostat sections in Epon was devi sed. In the present technique tissue sections were attached to widely used silane-coated slides, processed, and embedded in Epon beneath non -adhesive transparent plastic films. The Epon block can be easily remo ved from slides by heating. This method simultaneously offers transpar ency and thinness of the embedded blocks, absolute flatness of the sec tions, and easy removal of Epon from embedding molds.
