Br. You et Sb. Lee, FATIGUE-CRACK GROWTH-BEHAVIOR OF SM45C STEEL UNDER MIXED-MODE I AND II LOADING, Fatigue & fracture of engineering materials & structures, 21(9), 1998, pp. 1037-1048
The practical applications of studies related to constant amplitude mo
de I loading are somewhat limited in situations where more than one mo
de exists. So, criteria, rules and laws for these situations have to b
e validated with experiments. This paper extends previous results by t
he authors for mixed-mode I and II fatigue loading. An effective stres
s intensity factor range which considers crack closure and crack surfa
ce interference is described for the analysis of a crack under mixed-m
ode I and II fatigue loadings, and this factor is assessed from experi
mental results.
