Abstract
Exact soliton solutions of the dark discrete nonlinear Schrodinger (DN LS) equation with nonvanishing boundary conditions are found and espec ially it is shown that the dark DNLS equation can have both dark and b right soliton solutions. Some solitary wave solutions of the DNLS equa tion with nonvanishing boundary conditions are also derived.
