Abstract
A variational calculation scheme of SU(N)/Z(N) lattice gauge models fo r large but finite N is presented. The order parameter, the internal e nergy [E], and the phase transition points of lattice SU(N)/Z(N) gauge systems for N = 3 similar to 6 are calculated. The results of [E] are in good agreement with Monte Carlo simulations.
