M. Jonescaballero et al., SCLERODERMATOUS GRAFT-VERSUS-HOST DISEASE AFTER DONOR LEUKOCYTE INFUSION, British journal of dermatology, 139(5), 1998, pp. 889-892
Leucocyte infusion from the marrow donor is a new therapeutic option t
o avoid repeated bone marrow transplants in patients with recurrent le
ukaemia. The treatment is based on the fact that alloreactive donor im
mune cells may recognize and eliminate residual leukaemia cells. This
phenomenon has been called graft-versus-leukaemia. We describe a patie
nt who received donor leucocyte infusion for a relapsed chronic myeloi
d leukaemia after his second bone marrow transplant and developed scle
rodermatous graft-versus-host disease.
