Abstract
We consider an initial boundary value problem for a nonlinear differen tial system consisting of one equation of parabolic type coupled with a n x n semi-linear hyperbolic system of first order. This system of e quations describes a model of compressible miscible displacement of n + 1 chemical species in porous media, in the absence of diffusion and dispersion. In one-dimensional space, we construct a global weak solut ion with bounded total variation for the concentration. (C) Elsevier; Paris.
