Abstract
Methodology for preparing a series of novel alpha-amino-acids and thei r derivatives containing an isoxazole ring as a substituent is present ed. The synthesis starts from a readily available L-serine derivative from which, depending on the synthetic strategy, it is possible to obt ain isoxazol-3-yl or isoxazol-5-yl amino-acid precursors.
