Abstract
First-order conservation laws quadratic in derivatives are considered for systems of hydrodynamic-type equations. Defining relationships for the densities of such conservation laws are derived in a form that is invariant with respect to pointwise changes of the variables. Example s of nondiagonalizable systems admitting quadratic conservation laws a re given.
