Abstract
Neutron irradiation effects on bend strength of V/MgO and V/Al2O3 join ts, which had been bonded at appropriate conditions, were studied to e valuate ceramic/metal joint for fusion materials using three-point ben d test and fractography. Bend strength of V/Al2O3 joints was lowered b y neutron irradiation, but that of V/MgO joints was not changed by neu tron irradiation. It was considered that reduction of the strength of V/Al2O3 joints was not caused by the weakening of the interface, but c aused by the formation of residual stress crack during irradiation.
