We study the Rarita-Schwinger equations on globally hyperbolic asympto
tically flat vacuum space-times. We use a gauge firing that guarantees
the positive definiteness of the conserved quantity at each time. Thi
s leads to a straightforward Hilbert space framework in which we solve
the global Cauchy problem. Applications to the analysis of the full E
instein vacuum equations are briefly discussed. (C) Academie des Scien
