Abstract
Karyotype analyses for the three Mexican species of Marathrum are repo rted for the first time. The somatic chromosome number was 2n=28 for a ll species and n=14 was recorded in pollen mother cells of M. schiedea num. In accordance with our results the basic chromosome number for Me xican species of Marathrum is x=14. (C) 1998 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights reserved.
