The possibilities of acoustical methods for the determination of the p
arameters of fine-structured inhomogeneities are discussed on the basi
s of the previously developed model of sound penetration into a shadow
zone. As an example, a full-scale acoustical experiment is considered
, the results of which allow one to determine the angular width of the
sound scattering pattern in the range of several kilohertz and to mak
e indirect conclusions concerning the structure of the inhomogeneities
of the oceanic medium.
