We report on magnetization measurements as a function of temperature b
etween 0.1 and 10 K for Cu0.98Zn0.02GeO3 single crystals in a magnetic
held up to 14 T. The successive antiferromagnetic order and the spin-
Peierls (SP) transition are confirmed. In the SP state, the paramagnet
ic contribution due to the spins induced by impurities corresponds to
one spin 1/2 per Zn atom. The very specific nature of the low-temperat
ure antiferromagnetic state coexisting with the dimerized spin-Peierls
state is also revealed in the magnetization curves.
