Abstract
With a view to utilizing the cold heat of Liquid Natural Gas, candidat
es for cold storage media, which store cold heat in a temperature rang
e between -20 to -50 degrees C as latent heat, are investigated. Amine
/water binary solutions are found to be promising candidates. A liquid
/solution equilibrium experiment shows eutectic character of these sol
utions. Ametylamine/water solution is expected to be the lowest temper
ature cold heat storage media, and is examined in a phase change chara
cteristic experiment. The solution generats dendrite crystals in the f
irst phase change. The generated liquid/solid solution shows eutectic
slurry character. Based on the experimental results, the possibility o
f using the eutectic solution as a fluid high-density cold storage med
ia is discussed.
