Resolutions of the identity in terms of contour integrals that involve
SU(1, 1) coherent states and their 'complementary states', are derive
d. The complementary states are auxiliary states that help in the form
ulation of these resolutions of the identity. Since the SU(1, 1) coher
ent states are normalizable inside the unit disc and the complementary
states are normalizable outside the unit disc, enlargements of the Hi
lbert space are considered which allow the construction of resolutions
of the identity in terms of contour integrals in rings 1 - epsilon(2)
< \z\ < 1 + epsilon(1). Several examples of our formalism are present
ed.
