1. This chart survey aims to draw attention to a neuroleptic drug whic
h is poorly known but may have atypical properties. 2. Forty patients,
thirty four of them suffering from chronic schizophrenia resistant to
other neuroleptics, were found to be in clotiapine treatment. A clini
cal evaluation was made by the treating doctors and medical personnel.
3. More than sixty percent of the patients suffering from chronic sch
izophrenia showed significant improvement and more than thirty five pe
rcent showed partial improvement, compared with past function on other
neuroleptics. 4. Clotiapine may have clozapine-like effects that requ
ire controlled study for confirmation.
