The solid complexes of phytic acid with trivalent rare earth metals in
aqueous solution were synthesized and characterized by means of eleme
ntary analysis, IR and thermoanalysis. The composition of complexes [(
C6H6)H-4(PO4)(6)](3) . RE(I)(8) . C2H5OH . xH(2)O (x=10 similar to 15,
RE=Y, Pr, Gd, Tb, Er, Yb) was determined. The IR specra of complexes
show that RE(I) is coordinated by O-P-O bridging group of phytic acid
to form polynuclear polymer. In addition, the thermal decomposition ki
netics of the complexes was investigated as well.
