Sb. Killick et al., SUSTAINED REMISSION OF SEVERE RESISTANT AUTOIMMUNE NEUTROPENIA WITH CAMPATH-1H, British Journal of Haematology, 97(2), 1997, pp. 306-308
We report the course of a patient with severe autoimmune neutropenia i
n whom only transient responses occurred with corticosteroids, antilym
phocyte globulin granulocyte-colony stimulating factor, and who was re
sistant to treatment with azathioprine, cyclosporin and intravenous im
munoglobulin. A 10d course of intravenous Campath-1H monoclonal result
ed in a sustained haematological response. The long-lasting effect of
Campath-1H may be due to its remarkable ability to induce a profound a
nd prolonged peripheral blood T lymphopenia.
