Dg. Roxburgh, ELECTROMAGNETIC SCATTERING FROM A RIGHT-CIRCULAR CYLINDER USING A SURFACE RADIATION CONDITION, IMA journal of applied mathematics, 59(2), 1997, pp. 221-230
The scattering of plane, harmonic electromagnetic waves from perfectly
conducting right-circular cylinders is studied by making use of a sur
face radiation condition. Using spherical polar coordinates, the surfa
ce profile of the cylinder is described and the particular form taken
by the surface radiation condition is determined. A numerical scheme i
s outlined and the problems caused by the discontinuity of curvature a
cross the surface are discussed. The results produced are then favoura
bly compared with those produced by the numerical electromagnetics cod
e and physical optics.
