Abstract
The quality of the white water in deinking mills is an often underesti mated factor influencing the total process performance. This article d iscusses the white water quality and its impact on deinking and bleach ing. Ultrafiltration was used for characterization of mill white water s and the water fractions produced were used for lab trials. Both dein king and bleaching efficiency were affected by the water quality.
