Abstract
A detailed discussion is given of the disorder parameter for dual supe rconductivity of lattice gauge theories, introduced in a previous pape r, and of its relation to other approaches. New lattice data are repor ted. Among other results, we find that the dual superconductivity of c ompact U(1) is type II. [S0556-2821(97)02823-3].
