H. Uyama et al., EXTREMELY EFFICIENT CATALYSIS OF IMMOBILIZED LIPASE IN RING-OPENING POLYMERIZATION OF LACTONES, Chemistry Letters, (11), 1997, pp. 1109-1110
An immobilized lipase derived from Candida antarctica was used as cata
lyst for the ring-opening polymerization of lactones. A small amount o
f the immobilized enzyme showed the extremely efficient catalysis in t
he lactone polymerization. The polymerization in the presence of 1-oct
anol enhanced the rate of reaction.
