Abstract
In order to estimate the complex antenna factor of a dipole antenna, a new field transfer factor is proposed that theoretically estimates th e transmission coefficient at a distance satisfying the far-field cond ition by the method of moments from the measured transmission coeffici ents in the near field. Its effectiveness has been experimentally conf irmed. The estimation results are compared with those given by the con ventional near-field corrected 3-antenna method. It is pointed out tha t the near-field compensated 3-antenna method provides accurate result s for the antennas. (C) 1997 Scripta Technica Inc.
