Abstract
Polyelectrolyte-surfactant complexes have properties that may allow th em to be used to replace expensive and synthetically complicated chira l liquid-crystal systems in display applications, for example. The mod el systems of poly-L-lysin complexed with soybean lecithin-the Figure shows the structure model-and kappa-carrageenan with various dialkyldi methylammonium salts are described.
