Abstract
An experiment is presented that combines the multiple-quantum magic-an gle spinning (MQMAS) technique with cross-polarization (CP). As a prel iminary test of this new method, we measured and compared the Al-27 3Q MAS and F-19-->Al-27 CP 3QMAS spectra of a fluorinated AlPO4 aluminoph osphate. Complete discrimination between the fluorinated and nonfluori nated Al sites was easily achieved, which demonstrates the usefulness of CP MQMAS for spectral editing. Future applications of this experime nt will include other spin pairs and heteronuclear correlation NMR spe ctroscopy. (C) 1997 Elsevier Science B.V.
