Abstract
Independent of the question whether the Mexican zapatista movement is feminist or not, and even if it can be criticized on certain points, i t has brought significant changes in the lives of indigenous Indian wo men. Their participation has increased considerably and even if their demands do not fit in the ideals of certain feminists, it would be a p ity to turn one's back on them. On the contrary, this is a historic op portunity for the feminist movement to spread to other areas, all the more because Zapatism proclaims that there is room for all in its proj ect.
