Abstract
The emission produced by thiourea in oxidation by permanganate in acidic so lution in the presence of Ru(bipy)(3)(2+) is used to determine 1.8x10(-8) t o 1.8x10(-6) mol/l thiourea. The limit of detection is 1.0x10(-8) mol/l and the relative standard deviation is 1.1% for a 1x10(-5) mol/l thiourea solu tion (n=10). The method was applied satisfactorily to the determination of thiourea.
