Brittonia 51: 44-47. 1999. - A new species of cycad allied to the C. circinalis group, Cycas pranburiens is, is described from the southeast karst area of Thailand near Pranburi, P rachuap Khiri Khan province. It is distinguished by its short leaves with b road, coriaceous leaflets and mostly unarmed petioles, and the extended, ge ntly curved sterile apices of the microsporophylls. The cone beetle fauna o f the new species, believed to be involved in pollination, is distinct from that of other southeast Asian species of Cycas.
