Abstract
Video is an important and challenging medium and requires sophisticated ind exing schemes for efficient retrieval from visual databases. Video segmenta tion is a fundamental step in video indexing and involves detection of scen e changes. In this paper, we propose a fast and robust algorithm for detect ing video shot boundaries in the MPEG-2 compressed bit stream with minimal decoding.
