Abstract
Four new tricarbocyclic diterpenes 2-5 containing the bicyclic [4.3.1] ring system found in floridicin (1), and an additional four dicarbocy lic terpenes 6-9 containing the same bicyclic moiety, have been isolat ed from the soft coral, Xenia florida. Their structures were elucidate d by spectroscopic means. (C) 1997 Elsevier Science Ltd.
