Abstract
A new methodology quickly leading to benzo[a]phenoxazine derivatives is rep orted. The mixture of N,N-dialkyl-4-nitrosoaniline hydrochloride and 2-naph thol derivatives was irradiated in domestic microwave oven in the absence o f solvent to afford benzo[a]phenoxazonium chlorides 3a-3f with a high yield and the results, were compared: with the conditions reacted in supporters, oil-bath or solvent, Moreover, a new laser dye 9-dimethylamino-6-carbethox y-5H-benzo[a]phenoxazin-5-one was prepared.
