Admittance spectra of quartz crystal resonance were measured in situ in the
electrochemical process of Fe(CN)(6)(3-)/Fe(CN)(6)(4-) on Au electrode in
1.0 mol/L Na2SO4 aqueous solution using an electrochemical quartz crystal i
mpedance system, Changes in motional resistance R-1 were well reversible wi
th potential, but resonant frequency f(o) series resonant frequency f(s) an
d parallel resonant frequency f(p) had significant rising drifts besides so
mewhat reversible changes with potential. It is concluded that changes in R
-1 were caused by variations in solution density and viscosity near electro
de surface, but frequency responses resulted from both changes of solution
properties and corrosion of Au electrode in anodic process.
