Abstract
The Zn-containing monomers and latexes of their copolymers with butyl metha crylate were synthesized. Their colloid-chemical properties were studied. T he presence of crosslinked structures in the latexes was revealed. These st ructures affect the colloid-chemical properties of the latexes (particle si ze, viscosity, adsorption layer thickness, etc.). The formation of these st ructures is probably attributable to the coordination interaction of a zinc atom with carboxyl groups and essentially depends on its ligand environmen t.
