Zm. Yaremko et Lb. Fedushinskaya, Rheological properties of polymer-containing aluminum oxide dispersions and interactions between dispersed particles, COLL J, 61(2), 1999, pp. 257-262
The dependence of the viscosity of aqueous polymer-containing aluminum oxid
e dispersions on shear stress was investigated. Poly(vinyl alcohol), poly(e
thylene oxide), poly(methacrylic acid), and the copolymer of maleic anhydri
de and styrene were used to modify the surface of the solid phase particles
. The averaged values of the ultimate shear stress corresponding to the fai
lure of particle aggregates and the adhesion force in a single contact betw
een the particles were determined on the basis of a formalized model for th
e viscosity versus shear stress dependence for the systems studied.
