The lattice dynamics of the PbMg1/3Nb2/3O3 relaxor ferroelectric has been s
tudied by the method of inelastic neutron scattering in the temperature ran
ge 30-300 K. The analysis of the low-frequency part of the generalized dens
ity of vibrational states provided the identification of the fracton mode i
n the vibrational spectrum of PbMg1/3Nb2/3O3. Possible causes of the anomal
ous temperature dependence of the generalized density of the vibrational st
ates are discussed.
