Abstract
Echo planar imaging (EPI) is one of the most efficient magnetic resonance i maging (MRI) techniques. It is also a technically demanding experiment and is prone to severe artifacts. The artifacts can be caused by various factor s related to the hardware, the experiment or the sample. In this article, t he nature of the artifacts commonly encountered in EPI is presented. Variou s experimental methods used to minimize these are also discussed.
