Electropurification processing parameters, characterization, and mechanism
of electro-oxidizing desulfurization for sulfur-contanining wastewater have
been investigated and determined. The removal efficiency of sulfides and c
hemical oxygen demand (CODcr) are 93 and 85%, respectively, in pilot test s
olutions containing sulfides of 1.0 and 1.1 g L-1 and CODcr of 1.44-1.87 g
L-1 with pH 7.0-10.0 at 30 degrees C. The specific energy consumption of th
e process is 3.95 kWh (kg s)(-1). The Fe2+-H2O2 oxidizing agent generated i
n the solution is responsible for high efficiency desulfurization by oxidzi
