Voltammetry of ferricyanide in an agarose gel bulk medium allowed observati
on of diffusion controlled redox currents. The diffusion coefficient of 0.2
8 x 10(-5) cm(2) /s was determined in the agarose gel medium. Furthermore,
it was possible to scan the potential as slow as 0.01 mV/s without having c
onvection currents. It provides a novel medium, not only to control diffusi
on of redox species, but also to do electrochemistry without a container. (
