Abstract
A method for preparing the cathodoluminescent red phosphor europium-doped y ttrium oxide (Y2O3:Eu) using a self-assembling micelle mechanism is describ ed. The resulting fine powder has smaller sized particles, ranging from 0.1 to 1.0 mm, than does the commercial Y2O3 :Eu phosphor. Cathodoluminescence measurements showed that the phosphor was comparable to commercial product s at low voltage excitation. (C) 1999 The Electrochemical Society. S1099-00 62(98)08-062-X.
