A mathematical model is suggested of simultaneous calculation of the proces
ses of heat and mass transfer in a gas medium in a room with openings durin
g the escape of hydrogen from a hydride accumulator under conditions of fir
e. A numerical investigation is performed of the dependence of the mass flo
w rate of hydrogen into the room through the point of loss of seal in the h
ydrogen how train, the parameters of the gas medium in the room, and natura
l gas exchange with the ambient medium on the thermal properties of the mat
erial of enclosing structures for a model fire and a model hydride accumula
tor. It is demonstrated that the entire mass of hydrogen stored in the accu
mulator is desorbed during the time of fire.
