Abstract
Using the close relation between Fisher scoring and Newton maximization, an d an efficient density function evaluation, ae develop a fast maximum-likel ihood parameter estimation method. Simulations show the algorithm to be sup erior in accuracy to McCulloch's method and to achieve the Cramer-Rao bound .
