Travel-related infectious diseases are exceedingly common, difficult to dia
gnose, and sometimes preventable. Vaccination is one tool for reducing the
risk of infectious disease for some travelers. Both healthcare providers an
d travelers need to be aware of the new travel vaccines, and new formulatio
ns of older vaccines that now are available. This article presents an updat
e on vaccines for cholera, Japanese encephalitis, rabies, rotavirus, typhoi
d, and malaria.
