Abstract
A theoretical analysis is performed for fatigue crack closure in a through-
thickness cracked body based on a three-dimensional strip yield model. The
effects of stress state and thickness on crack closure is discussed. The pr
esent results coincide very well with three-dimensional finite element resu
lts.
